Snooki looks better without so much makeup, if you ask me. And for the love of god she needs to quit with the Oompa Loompa orangeness.

Parenting Tips

And THAT is how you do it, folks.

"Pick Something More Manly"

A 20 year old blogger slash retail manager witnessed something yesterday that many folks witness every day - or even do to their kids every day - without batting an eyelash. However, she did what very few people would have done in the same situation.

A teenage boy and his kid brother (around age 10) came into the store she works at. The kid brother asked her if there were any games where he could be a female character. She directed him to one, and then he asked for girl-colored controllers. He found a purple one and had his heart set on it when his dad walked in the store and starting dogging on him for having a 'girl' controller and a 'girl' game and was telling him to pick something more manly, with some shooting and stuff. He even went so far as to threaten to spank him if he didn't change his mind.

That's when the big brother stepped in and told Dad what was up. Big brother told his dad that it was his gift to his little brother and if he was going to hit anyone, it'd be him - not his brother. The dad stormed out of the store.

The rest is Kristin's story to tell.

That's when big brother stepped in. He said to his dad, "It's my money, it's my gift to him. If it's what he wants, I'm getting it for him, and if you're going to hit anyone for it, it's going to be me." Dad just gave his oldest son a strong stern stare-down, and then left the store. Little brother was crying quietly. I walked over and ruffled his hair (yes, this happened all in front of me). I said, "I'm a girl, and I like the color blue, and I like shooting games. There's nothing wrong with what you like. Even if it's different than what people think you should." I smiled, he smiled back (my heart melted!). Big brother then leaned down, kissed little brother on the head, and said, "Don't worry, dude."

If more people were like this big brother... if more people were like this retail manager... the world would be a better place. Don't try to change your kids. They are who they are. Be thankful they're brave enough to be individuals instead of clones of everyone else.

Would you allow your son to use a pink or purple controller? Or would you encourage him to embrace his individuality? On the other hand, would you allow your daughter to pick out a "boy" video game? Where do you draw the line?

Beyonce Was Pregnant For LIKE EVER!

Congratulations to Beyonce and Jay-Z! The singer has given birth to a daughter at New York's Lenox Hill Hospital. They named her Blue Ivy Carter.

x17online
The couple rented out the entire fourth floor of Lenox Hill Hospital, on Manhattan's Upper East Side, for the birth -- paying $1.3 million!

Hospital management reportedly put tape over security cameras and forced staff to hand in their cell phones in an effort to stop unauthorized photographs and footage being leaked.

When celebrities give their babies crazy names, that ensures they're talked about for even LONGER... celebrity stunt, perhaps?

All that matters is that mother and baby are doing fine. I can't wait to see baby pictures!!

Hell yes, shoot his punk ass!!!

What do you do if you're home alone with your 3 month old and you hear someone trying to break in?

This 18 year old mother did exactly what I would have. She lost her husband to cancer on Christmas day. Less than 2 weeks later, two men tried to break into her home - one armed with a hunting knife.

The young mother called 911, asked for permission to shoot the intruders if she has to. The 911 operator told her she couldn't shoot them until they get inside. So the brave mom gave her 3 month old baby a bottle, walked over in front of the door, and held up the gun ready to fire if she had to.

Bad guy breaks in, she shoots him, he dies. And the other punk ass turns himself in to the police. Wish she could have shot him, too.

Hearing the 911 call gave me the chills. At 18 years old she has been through more than anyone should have to in their entire lives. She did what she had to to protect her baby.

I hope all the 'bad guys' of the world see this story. You break in, I will shoot your ass, and you probably will die. Don't be a punk - get a job and pay your bills like the rest of us.

States: Want Even More Welfare Expenses? Ban Birth Control!!

So you've checked out my Presidential Hopefuls post, right? Well now I want to talk about Rick Santorum and his solution to the country's debt... er, wait a second. Rick Santorum wants the states to have the power to ban birth control (among other things, like sodomy - really?). I wouldn't call that a solution to anything.

While I'm sure we can all imagine what will happen if birth control is banned, I'd like to take a moment to think out loud for a bit about it.

Republican presidential candidate Rick Santorum, whose strong base of evangelical Christian supporters has thrust him into contention in Iowa, said on Monday that he believes states should have the right to outlaw birth control and sodomy without the interference of the Supreme Court.

“The state has a right to do that, I have never questioned that the state has a right to do that," he said. "It is not a constitutional right. The state has the right to pass whatever statutes they have. That's the thing I have said about the activism of the Supreme Court--they are creating rights, and it should be left up to the people to decide."

Ban birth control and the welfare population will easily double over the next few years.

Ban birth control and the number of abortions will soar.

Ban birth control and the number of unwanted babies will go through the roof.

Ban birth control and .... what else will happen if we allow states to ban birth control? I'm sure there are some things I'm not thinking of.

I understand the thought process behind giving the states more power, and it's a great thing. I'm against big government as much as the next person is, but banning birth control? Really? That shouldn't even be an option. It shouldn't even be discussed. It should be a thought that is so far out there that it is just laughed at, not written about... not talked about... not even considered!

In one way I am thankful for Santorum. It makes my maybe-vote for Obama a little easier to swallow. I wanted to hate Obama, really I did. I didn't like him at first and had no intention of changing my opinion of the President. However, after seeing how he's done over the last few years - and seeing the other options we have - Obama is looking like filet mignon right now compared to the rest of the turkeys.
